Child Dental Benefit Schedule

Childern Friendly Dentist (CDBS)

For Australian families with children aged 2-17, the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) offers a valuable program to support children’s dental care. Explore the CDBS to understand its benefits, eligibility requirements, and how to access this program for your child’s oral health.

What is the CDBS?

The CDBS is a national, means-tested program funded by the Australian Government. It provides eligible children with a capped benefit to cover the costs of basic dental services, promoting preventative care and good oral health habits from a young age.

Advantage

  • Financial Assistance: The CDBS helps families manage the costs of dental care for their children, making essential dental services more accessible.
  • Improved Oral Health: Regular dental check-ups, cleanings, and treatments supported by the CDBS can prevent dental problems and ensure healthy teeth for your child.
  • Early Detection and Treatment: The CDBS encourages preventative care, allowing for early detection of potential dental issues and addressing them before they become more serious and costly.
  • Pain-Free Smiles: Regular dental care promotes good oral health, minimizing the risk of cavities and pain associated with dental problems.
  • Building Confidence: A healthy smile can boost a child’s confidence and self-esteem.

Eligibility & Time Frame

To be eligible for the CDBS, your child must meet all the following criteria:

  • Age between 2 and 17 years old for at least one day in a calendar year.
  • Entitled to Medicare.
  • Must be the child (or a dependant) of someone who receives a relevant Australian Government payment, such as Family Tax Benefit Part A, or be a child in an approved care arrangement.

Time Frame and Benefits:

The CDBS operates on a two-year cycle, with each child receiving a capped benefit amount over this period. The benefit amount is subject to change and can confirmed by visiting the Department of Health website (https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/child-dental-benefits-schedule).

Important Information

  • The CDBS covers a range of basic dental services, including examinations, cleanings, X-rays, fillings, fissure sealants, root canals, extractions, and some types of dentures for children.
  • There are limits on the types of services and the number of services that can claimed within two years.
  • You may need to pay some additional costs depending on the specific dental services your child requires.

Conclusion

The Child Dental Benefits Schedule plays a vital role in promoting good oral health for Australian children. If your child is eligible, taking advantage of the CDBS can ensure your child receives essential dental care, laying the foundation for a lifetime of healthy smiles. Talk to your dentist and explore how the CDBS can benefit your child’s oral health journey.

I had an amazing experience at [Your Family Dentist]! From the moment I walked in, the staff was warm and welcoming. Dr. Nick and Dr. Shaveta were incredibly professional and took the time to explain every step of my treatment, which helped ease my dental anxiety.

I got my dental implants and teeth whitening done here, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. The clinic is super clean, modern, and they even offer flexible payment plans which made it easier for me to go ahead with my treatment.

Highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for quality dental care in Liverpool. Thank you for giving me back my smile! 😁

Terrible experience.
They still have $7000.00 of my hard earned money.
I decided not to proceed with the treatment , and kindly asked for them to return my deposit.
They have dodged me for 3 years, anyone i finally reach, always says they will call me back, never have...gave them plenty of warnings before i left this review
Now seeking legal action.
Unprofessional, i DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Disgraceful.

The worst customer service we have ever been privy to! Booked it from groupon. Got last minutes cancellation twice after confirmation the night before. The third time appointment, we arrivide within their business hours but no one was there (door closed after 9am). around 9:20 finally someone (receptionist) turned up. She did not greet or explain anything to us. When the owner came later, she told us we were unable to do it again as the dentist is sick again. They are so unprofessional and their customer service is next to zero. Do Not Book any appointment from this one. It's a complete waste of time!
